STRs Analysis

 Fragment Analysis provides a rapid and accurate method for genetic analysis. Applications include STR (Short Tandem Repeat, or microsatellite analysis), SSCP (Single Strand Conformation Polymorphism), and AFLP (amplified fragment length polymorphism analysis), etc. The GeneScan services group at SinoGenoMax utilizes ABI GeneScan Analysis system based on multicolor fluorescence technology for sizing and quantitating PCR and other DNA fragments.

With the use of two ABI3730xl DNA analyzers and ABI GeneScan Analysis software, we offer whole-genome scan with a full panel of 384 proven micro satellite markers that enable us to achieve resolution of 10 CM. By further LD analysis, disease-related gene loci can be more accurately localized. SinoGenoMax offers this analysis system to aid our customers in their research in linkage mapping, disease gene localization studies, parental testing, transplant compatibility, forensic test, and species polymorphisms, etc.

Based on this GeneScan system, SinoGenoMax has successfully helped many clients in their genetic research studies by mapping susceptible genes for several diseases, such as hypertension and a few other cardiovascular diseases. (Type II diabetes, hereditary deafness, hereditary macrostomia, accessory tragus, and primary erythermalgia, etc.)
