DNA Sequencing

Equipped with two ABI 3730xl DNA Analyzers, two ABI 3700 Analyzers and one Amersham MegaBace 4000 DNA Analyzer, the sequencing service group at SGM performs high-throughput DNA sequencing with a capacity of -6 million PHRED 20 bases per day. Our sequencing service group is composed of three interrelated teams: sequencing team, quality control team and bioinformatics team, who work independently while collaborating with one another on our sequencing-analysis streamline. By our unique quality control procedures including both pre-sequencing assessment and post-sequencing data analysis, our ISO trained technical staff is able to achieve high pass rates for all types of sample templates in their daily large-scale operations, and thus ensure stable quality and reliability for all the data generated.

The samples we accept include PCR products, plasmid DNA, cosmid DNA, genomic clones, genomic DNA and BAC DNA, in either 96-well plates or microtubes. We perform DNA purification step for PCR products and plasmid DNA free of charge. We also accept bacterial colonies for which we offer complimentary culturing and DNA preparation. Customers may provide sequencing primers, or you may choose from our stocks of universal primers that are provided at no charge.
